What this site is

Casino Insider reviews online casinos that accept South African players. We hold full reviews of 36 operators. 9 of them are ranked partners with a verified affiliate route and a published score; 4 are Ruby-programme brands we link but deliberately do not rank; the remaining 23 have no affiliate route at all. The site is written for adults aged 18 and over in South Africa.

We are an independent publisher. We are not owned by, operated by, or affiliated with any casino operator, and we do not run games of our own.

How we are funded

When a reader opens an account through a link marked as a partner link, the operator may pay us a commission. It costs the reader nothing. This is the site's only source of revenue and we state it on every page that carries such a link.

The protection against that money distorting what we publish is structural rather than a promise. Scores are calculated in code from five published pillars — the full formula is on how we rate — and the pillar scores are printed next to every overall score so the arithmetic can be checked. A commercial arrangement has nowhere to enter that calculation.

Our editorial standards

We do not publish figures we have not verified. Every welcome offer on this site was read off the operator's own promotions page, or the landing page their sign-up link actually leads to, on a recorded date shown next to the claim. Where an operator geo-blocked us or served its promotion dynamically, we print no figure and say why. We do not copy bonus figures from other comparison sites.

No button ever pretends to be something it is not. It is common practice in this industry to place a "play now" button beside a casino the site has no working link to, and quietly route the click to whichever operator does pay. The reader asks for one casino and lands at another with no indication that a substitution happened.

We do the same substitution — and say so. Where we have no affiliate route to an operator, the button reads "Play at Hollywoodbets instead", the text beside it states in bold that it opens Hollywoodbets and not the brand on the page, and the review says we earn nothing from the casino being reviewed. You may still decide to take it. What you will not do is take it by accident.

Where we do have a route, the button opens the casino named on the page. That is true of all 13 partner and Ruby brands, and we verified every destination by following the redirect chain ourselves.

We do not publish payout percentages. Return-to-player is set per game by the software supplier, not by the casino, so a site-wide "96.4% payout" figure is not a measurable property of an operator. Most comparison sites publish them anyway. We do not.

We say when we do not know. Several operators we review carry no verified welcome figure because we could not read one. Leaving those blank makes a page look less complete and makes the site more useful, and we regard that as the correct trade. We also publish what our own checks turned up when a brand is no longer what it claims to be — four of the casinos in our data have been retired, consolidated or taken offline, and we say so on their pages rather than deleting them.

Who writes this

Reviews are researched and written by the Casino Insider editorial desk. Each page carries the date it was last reviewed. Offers change frequently in this market — where a date looks stale, treat the operator's own promotions page as authoritative and tell us if something has moved.

Corrections

If a figure on this site is wrong, we want to fix it. A published editorial contact address is being finalised and will appear here. Until then, the fastest safeguard is the one already on the page: every verified claim shows its source and the date we checked it, so you can check it yourself against the operator's live site.
